WebThe Broom Creek Formation exists as the upper unit of the Minnelusa Group and extends throughout much of southwest North Dakota (Rygh, 1990). The Broom Creek (Figure 4), is composed of reddish-brown to pink quartzarenite, with some thin beds of dolostone (Rygh, 1990). Unconformably overlying the Broom Creek is the Opeche Formation (Permian).
