The lens is indicated for primary implantation when a cataractous lens has been removed by phacoemulsification with circular tear capsulotomy and the posterior capsule intact. WebThe Softec I is a C-loop, one-piece hydrophilic acrylic with a uniplanar design and equal biconvex spherical optic that allows surgeons to implant the lens whether it is right-side up or not. This makes positioning the lens virtually fool proof. The Softec I has been available globally for more than 10 years.
